WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR FIRST VISIT
Your first session with me will be different from future visits. The initial visit is for you and I to get to know each other and get an idea of how to proceed. Future visits will be more therapeutic in nature.
To provide to most effective treatment, we will begin with a conversation on what motivated you to make an appointment. Then, we review required topics to provide services. These include: consent to treat, HIPPA confidentiality, credentialing disclosure, psycoeducation on therapeutic modalities, expectations of treatment, agency policy regarding attendance and payment options. If time permits, we may complete some initial assessments.
It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a quick fix: it is a change process that necessitates active participation and investment from both the client and therapist.
